Gamma
Direct answer: Gamma makes a new deck from a prompt and its own templates. DeckShift takes the deck your team already trusts and rebuilds it for one prospect, with every added claim checked and cited. If you need a deck from nothing, use Gamma. If you have one and need it to win Tuesday's meeting, that's DeckShift.
When Gamma is the better pick
- You have no deck yet. Gamma starts from "a prompt, an outline, or a file" (gamma.app, read Nov 6, 2026). DeckShift refuses to run without a deck.
- You want the design done from scratch. "Describe the style, share inspiration, or let Gamma choose a look that fits your goal." (gamma.app, read Nov 6, 2026)
- You need more than slides. "Create presentations, websites, documents, graphics, and social content." (gamma.app, read Nov 6, 2026) DeckShift makes one thing: your deck, for one prospect.
- You want a free or cheap tier. Gamma's Free plan is $0 with "400 credits at signup" (gamma.app/pricing, read Nov 6, 2026) and Plus is $9 a seat a month on annual billing. DeckShift's Pro plan is $50 a month on annual, after a 14-day trial.
- You want a big template library. "100+ templates for any style or project." (gamma.app/templates, read Nov 6, 2026) DeckShift has none. Your deck is the template.
- Security review needs a SOC 2 report today. "We're a SOC 2 Type II compliant organization." (gamma.app/pricing, read Nov 6, 2026) We do not have one to show you yet.
You already did the hard part
Your team's deck is the most concentrated thing you know about how you win. The story holds, the proof points are the right ones, and some of those slides have been settled for months. The problem is the last mile: pointing that deck at the prospect you are talking to today, before the call, without rebuilding anything.
Gamma can take a deck in. Its pricing page says "you can also import any PPT file into Gamma to be enriched." (gamma.app/pricing, read Nov 6, 2026) But Gamma is a generator at heart, and its pages say so: "Gamma is the visual communication platform for presentations, documents, and more, with an expert AI agent that knows your goals." (gamma.app, read Nov 6, 2026)
DeckShift is not a generator. We never start from nothing, and the slides you already got right come back as themselves.
Side by side
| What matters | Gamma | ![]() |
|---|---|---|
| Starting point | "Start with a prompt, an outline, or a file, then work with Gamma's AI agent to develop your story and design." (gamma.app, read Nov 6, 2026) | The deck your team already has: uploaded as PPTX, imported from Google Slides, Google Drive or OneDrive, or picked from your library. |
| What it makes | "Create presentations, websites, documents, graphics, and social content." (gamma.app, read Nov 6, 2026) | A version of your deck for one prospect. PPTX, PDF or Google Slides. |
| Personalizing for a prospect | "Paste the prospect's website URL or company name, and Gamma updates a baseline template (client name, industry, pain points, recommended use cases) in seconds." (gamma.app/solutions/sales, read Nov 6, 2026) | Research on the prospect from a URL, a description or a discovery-call transcript, plus your own approved sources. New bridging slides, personalized slides, and the rest carried through unchanged. |
| Where added facts come from | Not stated on the pages we read. | Only the sources your account supplied: your company profile, the offering, the documents and pages you added, and the prospect's own site. Never the open web. |
| Checking what the AI wrote | Not mentioned on the pages we read. | Every added claim is independently verified and cited. You confirm or reject each one. Unresolved claims block download and share. |
| Your brand | "Set your theme once. Every deck your team produces stays consistent" (gamma.app/gamma-for-business, read Nov 6, 2026) | Read from your deck. Every color on a generated slide comes from the deck you uploaded, none from ours. |
| Speaker notes | Not mentioned on the pages we read. | On every shift, with citations. |
| CRM | "Bring content from tools like Slack, Notion, and Salesforce into Gamma, or create presentations from AI assistants like ChatGPT and Claude." (gamma.app, read Nov 6, 2026) | HubSpot, one way, on Team. Salesforce in progress. The Chrome extension reads a CRM record page and starts a shift from it. |
| Where you use it | "Bring Gamma into your existing workflows with integrations for Claude, ChatGPT, Google Docs, Zoom, Slack, Figma, and more." (gamma.app/gamma-for-business, read Nov 6, 2026) | Web app, Chrome extension and iPhone app. |
| Engagement analytics | "Its built-in analytics tell your sales reps exactly which cards a prospect spent the most time looking at" (gamma.app/solutions/sales, read Nov 6, 2026) | Deck performance dashboard on Team. |
| Security | "We're a SOC 2 Type II compliant organization." (gamma.app/pricing, read Nov 6, 2026) | Google SSO. No SOC 2 report yet. |
| Price | Free $0. Plus $9, Pro $18, Ultra $90 a seat a month on annual billing. Business $40. (gamma.app/pricing, read Nov 6, 2026) | Pro $50 a month on annual, after a 14-day trial. Team $360 per user a year. (deckshift.app/pricing) |
Every Gamma cell is a quote from Gamma's own pages, read in a browser on November 6, 2026, linked to the page it came from. Where a row says "not mentioned", we looked on Gamma's homepage, pricing, sales, business and templates pages that day and did not find it. That is our own reading, not a study, and Gamma's pages can change. Go read them.
Personalize means two different things
Gamma's sales page answers the question directly. Asked whether AI can make a personalized pitch deck for each prospect, it says: "Paste the prospect's website URL or company name, and Gamma updates a baseline template (client name, industry, pain points, recommended use cases) in seconds." (gamma.app/solutions/sales, read Nov 6, 2026)
That is a template with the prospect's name and industry filled in. It is fast and it is useful, and for a lot of outreach it is enough.
A DeckShift shift reads the prospect's site, or the description or call transcript you give it, and reads your own sources: the company profile, the offering, the brochures and pages you added. Then we rebuild your deck for that prospect. New bridging slides where the story needs them, personalized slides where yours needed it, and every claim it added carries a citation and a verdict you can open.
One fills in a template. The other rebuilds your argument for the room, and shows its work.
Every added claim has a source you can open
A claim DeckShift adds to your deck may cite only the sources your account supplied. We do not go out to the open web to find support for a line. When none of your sources say what a slide needs, the slide ships without the proof point rather than with an invented one.
Every kept claim is independently verified at generation, and its verdict, its citation and its review state stay with the deck. In the edit step you open each claim, see the source as it looked the day the check ran, and confirm it under your own name or reject it. A rejected claim leaves the slide. Unresolved claims block download and share.
On November 6, 2026 we read Gamma's homepage, pricing page, sales page, business page and templates page looking for how Gamma handles this. We found nothing about sources, citations, verification or confidence on generated content. That is our own review of five pages on one day, not a study. It is also not a criticism. Gamma is built to make things look right. DeckShift is built to make the added claims check out.
Preserve your best slides
Your deck gets analyzed, and then it gets kept. The slides you already got right carry through into the personalized deck as themselves, not regenerated in their likeness. Edit a slide by hand and run another pass, and DeckZipper merges the two rather than making you pick which one to lose.
Start with the deck you have
Fourteen days on the trial, then Pro at $50 a month on annual billing. No template to choose, no design brief to write. Upload the deck, name the prospect, and see what comes back.
Frequently asked questions
Is DeckShift a Gamma alternative?
Usually no. We do a different job. Gamma starts from a prompt, an outline or a file and generates a presentation, a document or a website with its own templates and AI images. DeckShift starts from the deck your team already has and rebuilds it for one prospect, with research on that prospect and a source on every added claim. If what you need is a deck from nothing, Gamma is the better pick.
Can I use both?
Yes, and some teams will. Use Gamma to draft a deck from nothing. Once that deck is settled, use DeckShift to rebuild it for each prospect before the call. Export from Gamma as PPTX, upload it to DeckShift, and every shift from then on starts from that deck.
Does DeckShift make a deck from a prompt?
No. Every shift starts from a deck you provide: uploaded as PPTX, imported from Google Slides, Google Drive or OneDrive, or picked from your library. There is no run without one. That is the point. Your deck is the asset, and the work you already did on it is what we personalize.
Does DeckShift keep my brand?
Yes. We read the theme of the deck you upload, its fonts, colors and layout, and every color on a generated slide comes from that deck, none from ours. The slides you already got right carry through as themselves, and the personalized deck exports as PPTX, PDF or Google Slides.
Does DeckShift connect to my CRM?
HubSpot, one way, on the Team plan. Salesforce is in progress. The Chrome extension reads the page you are on, a CRM record included, and starts a shift from it on any plan.
Start the trial with your own deck
Upload the deck your team already trusts, name the prospect, and see what a shift looks like. Fourteen days, your deck, no template to pick.
