HubSpot

Everything the account has already taught you reaches the deck, without retyping any of it.

DeckShift reads the HubSpot companies, deals, contacts and activity your reps can already see, and uses that context to shift your seed deck for one prospect. It only reads. DeckShift writes nothing to your HubSpot portal and downloads no file contents.

What it does

  • Search your HubSpot companies and deals from the DeckShift shift form.
  • Link a company or deal to the prospect you are building a deck for.
  • Bring in that record's contacts, deal details and activity as deck context.
  • Refresh the context when the record changes, or unlink it before you generate.
  • Keep access per rep, so each rep only finds what their own HubSpot login can see.

Install

  1. 1Open DeckShift in the HubSpot App Marketplace and select Install.
  2. 2HubSpot sends you to DeckShift's install page. If you are signed out, sign in or create an account, and you come straight back to it.
  3. 3An account admin selects Enable HubSpot and approves HubSpot's authorization screen. This connects one HubSpot portal to your whole DeckShift account.

You never enter a client ID, a client secret or an API key. DeckShift owns the HubSpot app's credentials.

What each person sees on the install page

  • An account admin on Insight or Enterprise sees Enable HubSpot.
  • A team member sees "Ask an account admin to enable HubSpot first." Come back to the same page once they have.
  • An account without CRM access on its plan sees that the HubSpot integration needs the Insight plan.

Connect your own HubSpot login

  1. 1Once an admin has enabled HubSpot, open the install page again, or go to Settings, then Integrations.
  2. 2Select Connect my identity and approve HubSpot's authorization screen.
  3. 3Your name and email appear on your personal identity card.

Every rep connects their own login. Searches run as that rep, so HubSpot's own record permissions decide what each person can find and link.

Use it in a shift

  1. 1Open the shift form in DeckShift.
  2. 2Type at least two characters into Search your CRM by company or deal.
  3. 3Select a result to link the prospect.
  4. 4Review the linked record and its address. Select Refresh CRM context if the record has changed.
  5. 5Add the rest of the prospect and deck details, then start the shift.

Disconnect or uninstall

  • To disconnect just yourself: Settings, then Integrations, then Disconnect my identity.
  • To turn it off for the whole account: an account admin selects Disable integration on the Company connection card. CRM search stops for everyone.
  • To remove the app from HubSpot: remove DeckShift in HubSpot's connected apps settings, then have an account admin disable the integration in DeckShift.

Who can install it, and on which plans

  • In HubSpot: a super admin, or a user with App Marketplace install access.
  • In DeckShift: an account admin, because enabling HubSpot connects a portal to the whole account. Reps connect their own logins after that without needing admin rights.
  • Plans: Insight, $18,000 a year flat, and Enterprise, on a custom annual contract. Both include the read-only HubSpot integration.

What DeckShift reads from HubSpot

These are the permissions the HubSpot authorization screen asks for. Every one is read only. If your HubSpot subscription leaves an object out, DeckShift skips it and carries on.

HubSpot questions

Does DeckShift write anything to HubSpot?

No. The integration only reads. It creates no notes, tasks, properties or timeline events, and changes no records in your portal.

Can a rep find records they can't see in HubSpot?

No. Search and linking run through each rep's own HubSpot login, so HubSpot's own permissions decide what each rep can find.

Which HubSpot subscription do we need?

Any. Companies, contacts and deals are on every HubSpot account. Objects your subscription does not include, such as some quotes or custom objects, are skipped and the import carries on.

Can we connect more than one HubSpot portal?

Not today. One DeckShift account connects to one HubSpot portal.

Does it learn from which deals close?

Not today. Joining decks to deal outcomes is the loop we are building, and nothing on your slides is weighted by win rate yet.
